Larry’s Privateers are an a cappella group at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, focused on continuing the oral traditions of sea shanties. The group typically meets on campus to sing together, with members teaching melodies from a shared lyric book and adding their own harmonies—sometimes up to nine or ten voice parts on a single song.
