Storm Weather Shanty Choir is a six-man choir from the island of Stord, Norway, established in 2000. Founder Haakon Steinar Vatle gathered the group after sailing on the three-masted steel bark Statsraad Lehmkuhl.

Known for their energetic, rock-inflected performances (one reviewer compared them to “Gogol Bordello singing shanties”), the choir has toured extensively in Norway, the US, Japan, and across Europe. They are a colorful presence in both folk music and rock-oriented scenes.
